Rumor has it that one of the panelists will be sitting in a red chair at today’s Women in Technology panel. The red chair symbolizes support for women in computing and IT.
The Women in Technology panel, part of the Capital Region’s first Tech Career Expo, takes place from 4:30 to 5:30 pm today at the University at Albany’s SEFCU Arena. Greane Tree Technology President Annmarie Lanesey joins Jennifer Goodall, Director, College of Computing and Information Women in Technology at the University at Albany; Farah Tuten, Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, Global Foundries Fab 8; Diana Wall, HR Business Partner for the Automotive Business, Marketing Function, and Technology & Innovation Function, SABIC; and Janet Reynolds, Executive Editor, Capital Region Women@Work. They will consider “where we are, where we’re going."
Why the Red Chair?
The red chair is the emblem of the Sit With Me campaign launched by the National Center for Women & Information Technology to recognize and encourage women’s contributions to IT.
