Albany Business Review has named Annmarie Lanesey, President and co-founder of Greane Tree Technology, one of their 2018 Disrupters, "the people and companies shaping technology." Annmarie is being recognized for her contributions to technology workforce development through AlbanyCanCode, the organization she founded to match local aptitude to opportunity. Annmarie will be honored at the May 3 Disrupters Luncheon, along with fellow Technology Disrupters Dick Frederick, Karthik and Guha Bala, Deb Leach, Antonio Civitella, and Danielle Merfeld. Annmarie welcomes the chance to highlight AlbanyCanCode's great work developing non-traditional talent and advocating for a vibrant, inclusive tech talent pipeline in our region. Founded in 2016, AlbanyCanCode offers technology courses to adults so they can quickly and affordably acquire the skills they need to enter the field of computer software development. It also works with local school districts to design and deliver custom coding curricula to prepare students for further studies and careers in computer science. Finally, AlbanyCanCode matches its successful graduates with opportunities in the local IT sector. Annmarie is proud that her disruptive dream has become reality, helping local people develop the skills and confidence they need to join the growing Tech Valley economy.
